Christ is Born!!!!

We have certainly been blessed this Christmas season. It has been a blast and the kids haven't seemed to slow down at all. We stayed busy preparing for Christmas the week before with lots of shopping, cleaning, shopping and wrapping. We had visits from friends, Danny and Patsy came by and of course took Landon and Ella to the "doughnut factory" to most it is known as Krispy Kreme but to Landon it is simply "Danny's Doughnut Factory" and this time Danny bought Landon 3 sprinkled doughnuts. He wanted to eat 2 that night but we were able to spread out the sugar high over two days.

Family started rolling in on Saturday, and literally rolled Ella in along with their luggage. It was great to get to see Damion, Kara and Aiden on Saturday night to celebrate Christmas with them and then on Sunday we had 2 visits to church and then a houseful of family over for dinner. Ella and a quiet church service mix about like oil and water so she stayed home on our second visit, but Landon enjoyed lighting candles and singing carols. It was a great way to spend the day as it helped us to all focus on what Christmas is truly about.

As for family time after church, I am so upset with myself because I didn't get any pictures from the evening. I was busy making sure food was ready and the table was set that I didn't snap photos, but it was such much fun having everyone here. It looked like presents were filling the room so much that there was barely room left for people but we still managed to get in one room to share presents and laughs. Mike and Barry replayed their childhood Christmas morning that they received their Atari, as they each received an Atari again (I can't believe it works), Gammy was thrilled to receive a gift certificate to the one restaurant that she has ever said that "she didn't particularly care for", we put the newest family member (Cathy Lee) up to giving her a gift card to that restaurant just for kicks.

After a late night we slept in a little on Christmas morning not getting everyone up until 8:45 and the kids were so patient and good that they just opened their stockings before eating a late breakfast at 10:00 and opening their presents at 11:00. I think Mike was most surprised after he found a table saw beside the tree. (I am hoping that the condo becomes the workshop that it was meant to be). The kids had a blast playing with bikes, ride-on toys, toys with lights, books, cars, golf clubs, v-smile video games, Thomas stuff, Elmo stuff, and their chalkboard. There were so many toys that we couldn't list them all or I would be typing all night. We stayed in and played all day and Landon never even took his pajamas off. Landon and Ella were so happy to have Nannie and Pops here until the afternoon and they are spoiled rotten from all of the attention. Ella ran around the house the rest of the evening looking for Pops in the bathrooms, in the beds and downstairs. Finally we called and let her talk to him but she still asks for Pops and Nannie today.

After everyone took a nap Chuck, Caroline, Kelli and Sam came over Christmas evening to hang out. The kids had a great time as they were not ready to give up having family here and got to play checkers and football. We ended the day with a birthday cake for Jesus - Alleluia - Christ is Born!!!

Merry Christmas! Tracy was given a reciprocating saw so perhaps we should think about joining the "Spouses Without Appendages" club. Sounds like a very family-filled and festive holiday! I think I'm back in the blogging game and glad to catch up again. Ask Clare about the toy phones she passed on to my girls...your name featured prominently, Brooke!
