Thursday, October 25, 2007Eli is home! We came home on Monday morning while Landon and Ella were at preschool! It was nice to be back at home to our surroundings and not eating hospital food. Landon and Ella were excited
to get home and see their baby brother sleeping away. Eli has adjusted to the loudness of our house - singing, dancing, screaming, and talking. Right now he can sleep through most anything and I hope that continues.

Gammy gave them "I'm the big brother" and "I'm the big sister" shirts to wear,
Ella wore hers for 3 days in a row and they still ask to wear them often. As soon as they wake up they ask where the baby is and what he is doing. Ella seems to mainly mind if the baby is crying and asks me to pick him up, luckily he cries very very little (knock on wood). Soon I hope to get some pictures of Ella mimicking the faces that her baby brother makes as he yawns and as he roots for food.

Eli mainly gets excited about eating but has spent lots of time awake over the last few days and luckily most of it has been during the day. I am trying to get used to the frequency of his meals and to the numerous diapers. I forgot how often you have to change them but it is still so much fun. Landon and Ella look like giants to me now and changing Ella's diaper is not nearly as fun as seeing that tiny little diaper that you can't imagine would fit anything. Mike and I are
constantly amazed at just how strong Eli is as he tries to hold his head up at times and fights really hard during diaper changes. Luckily I am feeling less and less sore after surgery and am getting around much better and can now get in and out of bed without
having to grunt and groan with every small movement.
Mike has headed back to work but Gammy and Nannie have been here helping with all of the much needed attention of Landon and Ella, fixing meals, washing clothes, running errands and taking the kids to school. We have also been blessed with lots of friends who have brought meals and checked on us.

Children are truly little miracles that have enriched our life together and we thank God each day for our blessings! I hope you enjoy the pictures!
