I just can't believe it is the middle of February already. I blink and a month is gone. I always heard about how fast time flies when you are "older" but man is it ever so true. We have been busy with everything and just wanted to give you some updates.

Eli is growing faster and faster. He is really into climbing onto anything possible and then standing on it. He has attempted to climb over the half wall between our den and kitchen, he has climbed on several tables, and into any chair he can find. He is still talking all of the time and his new words are night night, nannie, turtle and many more. He has gotten in the habit of grabbing my finger then taking me to what he wants; such as downstairs, outdoors, for his book and for his cup. If I don't take him then he will find someone elses finger to give it a try. He has cut 3 molars in the last week and isn't very happy about them at all. He had been eating cheeseburgers fine with out them so now that they are coming through he has not been eating as well. Today I thought that his teeth were giving him a bad stomach due to the drooling but it turns out he has had some GI virus today. God was certainly looking out for me as Mike had the day off and was amazingly helpful. What better way to spend your day then dealing with dirty diapers (4 to be exact) and changes of clothes each time, then on top of that projectile vomitting? By tonight he was able to keep some crackers and pedialyte down so hopefully we will be on the upswing tomorrow.

Ella has had fun getting ready for Valentine's day with all of the candy and cards. She had a pajama party at church, a party at preschool, and on Saturday she went to the Daddy/daughter dance at the Children's Museum. She was most excited about dressing up like a beautiful princess to go with Daddy. She spent the entire time that Daddy was getting ready in his room telling him how handsome he was. Each time she said it she sounded more and more surprised and told him if he put his slippers on he would be even more handsome. It all was sparked from the previous weekend when Mike and I had to go to a formal and when we came out dressed up she turned and said with enthusiasm "Mommy, you look like a princess!!!". Of course that melted my heart and I then let her pick out my jewelry and kept eating up her praise. However, I must say she was a much better princess than I and enjoyed dancing with Daddy and "making crafts" together at the museum.

Landon is working hard in school and doing well in all subjects. He has enjoyed getting to play outside more with some warmer weather. As a good big brother he has started pushing Eli in the swing and helping him to play with the bat and ball. We attempted to teach him to ride his bike but he wasn't very interested so we didn't get very far. Soon he will be ready to start t-ball so we will add another event to the calendar. In Taekwando he has made it to his yellow belt and even broke his first board with his fist. He was very nervous about doing it but he stepped right up and impressed us all.

I must say that Valentine's day was a special treat for me as I was told I had to sleep in and then around 9:00 I came out to Landon and Ella jumping from hiding spots yelling "surprise". They had decorated the kitchen and den and had fixed heart shaped pancakes, bacon, eggs, and sausage and topped my pancakes off with a candle for my birthday. What a special day- thanks a million!

A day spent at home after getting some snow yesterday evening. It was a lot of fun for the kids to get to go outside and experience the snow actually falling and sticking. The other dusting of snow we had this year happened overnight so they couldn't see it falling and it quickly melted away. We immediately got our coats on and went outside for playtime. Ella kept saying, "make sure the snow doesn't melt before I get out there". I guess that speaks to how often and how long snow stays around here. Today it has been super cold but with the sun out most of our backyard is now clear with the exception of the ice and snow on the patio and in the shady spots. The kids went out first thing this morning to play some more but with the temperature at 18 and being windy it didn't last long before Ella was back in "freezing" and Landon decided he wasn't cold but that he didn't want to play by himself. As for me it was so wonderful last night to see the snow fall and to see it in all of the trees as I drove to a meeting. It always seems so very peaceful and pure and just makes me smile. It also reminds me of times growing up where we would spend the whole day outside walking through the snowy woods, sledding, playing with the dogs, and just being cold and snowy. I am no where near as prepared as my mother was (since we don't get much snow). I only had one pair of mittens for Ella, none for Landon and had boys snowshoes as hand-me-downs for Ella and Landon. Eli wore his tennis shoes and all the kids wore jeans. One day I may invest in snow clothes but I will wait to see what Al Gore says on the global warming trend before my purchase.

On Monday night there had been some type of rain or something that they believed had frozen so there was a two hour delay that morning. With the kids inside and the rodes inside we decided to take a field trip to the science museum. We met up with some friends and had a blast. I got a great picture of the toddlers enjoying the floor keyboard. They loved making sounds with their feet. I think they love most anything that they can make noise with.
