Happy Father's Day a little late!! We had a great day around here on Sunday. Church, Mike and Ella to the pool, and then lots of family over for Father's day cookout. It is always great to have family come over. The game of the night was frisbee and we played after dinner until almost 9 PM. The kids have really taken to throwing frisbee and luckily we have enough room in the backyard that they can

throw it without too much trouble. However, we did have a few errant throws onto the roof. Mike broke out the ladder and retrieved the frisbees including one that had been on the roof for several months.

So here's a Happy Father's Day shout out to Mike for being a wonderful father to our kids. He is the ultimate fun guy taking them on outings like putt putt and chuck e cheese. He is the ultimate cool day with all kinds of fun gadgets like an ipad and itouch that the kids get to play with regularly along with playing wii at the drop of a hat. He is the ultimate disciplinarian - or maybe not but he is a good one when he absolutely has to be!! I love him for the wonderful husband he is but also for the absolutely amazing father he is!

On Monday of this week Landon played his last machine pitch baseball game of the year and it was for the championship. It was so exciting to see the little guys out there trying their best. They ended up winning and were so very excited. The team received a big trophy and the boys celebrated with pictures and cake. It was a fun season for Landon and his favorite position was 3rd base. He started out the season really loving 1st, 3rd and cat

cher. However, half way through his season he made a double play at 3rd by catching a pop fly and then tagging the base to get the runner out who left the base at the crack of the bat. Definitely a season highlight for him.

Mike helped coach the team with 2 other dads. They had lots of fun teaching the kids and seeing them improve over the season.

Mike's a great coach and always very encouraging.

Landon has enjoyed both basketball and baseball this year but when I asked him what his favorite was he said "I really want to play tennis!". So I think soon we will try to make our way to tennis lessons and see if he takes after his dad and his grandfather in tennis skills.

Ella on the other hand really wants to try gymnastics. I think we will give it a whirl with a camp this summer and then see in the fall about a class. All the kids are enjoying swimming this year and it is amazing to see how much they have improved since last year. Eli tries so very hard and is so close to not needing his water wings but it still makes me nervous. For now we will enjoy the pool and the summer and see what the fall brings for our sports lives.

What a great summer so far! We have had a lot of fun this summer already and are looking forward to the rest of summer and all the fun we are planning to have! So far we have been camping in the backyard, camping and hiking at a state park, swimming at the pool, swimming in a lake, landscaping, growing veggies,

visiting family, seeing friends, and just having fun. Yesterday we took Nannie to visit Dan Nicholas park in Salisbury because she had never been before and it was a BEAUTIFUL day. The kids loved showing her the train, riding the carousel together, playing putt putt, finding gems, seeing all the animals and having a picnic.

Over the weekend we went to Nannie and Pops and spent some time visiting Gammy as well. Mike and

I ventured over to the beach music festival for the first time in many years! It was a lot of fun to hang out with some friends we hadn't seen in a long time. The kids had a blast

being spoiled rotten like usual. I mean truly spoiled!!! Nannie fixes their favorite foods for every meal, Pops offers m&m's before meals and even a brownie for breakfast. Landon gets to play as many video games as he wishes and Nannie even sleeps on the floor with Eli at his request! Wow - my kids have it great!!! I know some people say if they could have gandkids without having kids, Nannie and Pops would have been all for that. I also think had I been their grandkid I would be as rotten as they come (assuming that I am not already!).
