Monday, April 27, 2009We have had an exciting few days. Landon, Ella, Eli and I traveled to Hilton Head to visit my dad or Pappy Lee as they call him. We were lucky to have some friends ride with us down there as they were visiting family as well. The weather was incredible with temps in the low 80's and sunshine the entire time. We visited the beach, the pool, the playground, the golf course and ate some good seafood.
I didn't think we would spend a lot of time at the beach because I thought it would be too cold but the water was great and the beach was crowded. The kids jumped waves, built sand castles and ran around everywhere. Eli wasn't so sure what to make of it all when his feet got wet but Landon and Ella sure loved to get wet. They were excited to also find seaweed, jellyfish, a p
art of a starfish and most of all sand dollars. After the beach we ventured to the pool and both of them swam even more. Eli was home taking a nap with Pappy Lee but Landon and Ella jumped, splashed, swam and played the entire time. There was also an amazing playground beside the pool with a big tree that you climbed up to the slide. This picture of the tree is right by the playground. On Saturday after the beach, pool and playground we all jumped on a golf cart and
rode around both golf courses checking it all out and looking for animals. They had some cool fox squirrels that looked like little raccoons, solid black squirrels, alligators, and birds of all kinds.
Ella was excited about alligators but I think Landon was more worried than anything. However, she did ask to see giraffes too - somehow we couldn't find any.We had so much fun and came back on Sunday to find Mike home from Merlefest and it was even hotter here than in South Carolina. Hope your weekend was fun!
